BACKYARDS OF KIEV
In Kiev, like other Eastern European cities the backyards within the building blocks are public places. The urban landscape takes its most surprising form in these backyards.
You will find lots of parking spaces, old derelict buildings and new high-rise buildings, gardens and trees. You will meet young women driving a SUV, an older woman delivering the bottles she collected, a man walking his dog, a couple drinking a beer or a security guard.
From the backyards, you encounter the city from its most informal and yet dynamic side.
